Make Ready: the Case for UCO Design. The UCO School of Design has set its sights on becoming a top 20 Design School. Facilities are our critical need.
Several years ago, the University of Central Oklahoma purchased the St. Mary’s Episcopal Church and School just across from the main campus on University Drive. The building meets the physical needs of the School of Design and allows the School to have students, faculty, and equipment all in a single facility. The new School of Design will house classroom space, critique space, faculty offices, a maker-space, a print center, photography studios, an outdoor courtyard, a supply store, and a design gallery.
The building requires life safety renovation for occupancy at a total cost of 3.2 million. The College of Fine Arts and Design and the University of Central Oklahoma has pledged 2.1 million toward the restoration.
We need to raise 1.1 million; Make Ready, the Case for UCO Design represents our fundraising request for this critical campaign.
Office Animal, the Percheron 034. This 116 page book provides an in-depth look at the genesis of the Percheron 034 desk from early free-flowing conceptual ideas, to the final prototype mock-up. The development of the Percheron 034 is the result of a thesis for a Master’s of Fine Arts in Industrial Design through the Academy of Art University, San Francisco, California.
Designs at the end of the book are proprietary and the remainder of the book is not shown for that reason.
Get Your Mod On. Created as promotional pieces and installation banners, this poster series featured the work of furniture designer Sam Ladwig in a pop-up-shop exhibition.
Post All Bills—a title reversing the common phrase “Post No Bills,” referring to wall space forbidding posters – highlighted original letterpress designs using illustration and typography. The exhibition adhered to three rules: feature an illustration in each piece; challenge each design to tell a tiny truth, include personal realities; and adhere to the statement “fair is fair” when handling critiques.
